ARC 1

ARC 1 is ProGARM’s lightest protection tier, designed for lower-energy tasks, layered systems, and baselayer garments. It covers polos, T-shirts, baselayers, and some trousers/coveralls — most often worn as a standalone layer for low-incident-energy work or underneath a heavier outer garment to add to a layered system’s total protection.

Key product: ProGARM 4693 Arc Flash Coverall — explicitly rated ELIM 6.2 cal/cm² / ATPV 6.7 cal/cm² (APC 1, ARC 1), designed for rail, utilities, and industrial electrical work.

In ProGARM’s range, ARC 1 appears across baselayers, polos and T-shirts, plus selected trousers and coveralls. These pieces are most often worn underneath an outer Arc Flash garment in a layered system, but can also be worn alone where the risk assessment permits.

Because the Open Arc Test gives a quantitative cal/cm² rating, ARC 1 is a precise measure rather than a category. The exact ELIM value for each product is shown on the SafetyICON™ label.
